4-24-25 THOUGHTS
We sing the old song... “Thou art the potter, I am the clay, Mold me and make me, after thy will...” Do we mean it? It has far reaching implications to our lives! Isa 64:8 But now, O LORD, You are our Father, We are the clay, and You our potter; And all of us are the work of Your hand. Jer 18:6 "Can I not, O house of Israel, deal with you as this potter [does?"] declares the LORD. "Behold, like the clay in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel." Another song comes to mind... “Be still my soul, the Lord is on thy side... Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain. Leave to thy God to order and provide. In every change... He faithful will remain” As we sing the songs, so we are called to live from time to time. Hope is eternal, not for this life only! 1Cor 15:19
Rom 9:16-24 16 So then it does not depend on the man who wills or the man who runs, but on God who has mercy. 17 For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, "FOR THIS VERY PURPOSE I RAISED YOU UP, TO DEMONSTRATE MY POWER IN YOU, AND THAT MY NAME MIGHT BE PROCLAIMED THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE EARTH." 18 So then He has mercy on whom He desires, and He hardens whom He desires. 19 You will say to me then, "Why does He still find fault? For who resists His will?" 20 On the contrary, who are you, O man, who answers back to God? The thing molded will not say to the molder, "Why did you make me like this," will it? 21 Or does not the potter have a right over the clay, to make from the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for common use? 22 What if God, although willing to demonstrate His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction? 23 And He did so to make known the riches of His glory upon vessels of mercy, which He prepared beforehand for glory, 24 even us, whom He also called, not from among Jews only, but also from among Gentiles.
My Prayer:
Father God, teach us to live what we believe. As we sing, so may we be! Help us to be willing, joyful, clay in Your awesome hands. We believe You are the only true and living God, help us to enjoy every consequence and promise of that truth! In the name of Your precious Son, Amen.
